My latest obsession? To drive to little roadside baked good stands. I’ve been finding lots of really delicious calories stuffed into these little unassuming she-sheds.

Located in Manton, MI is one such shed filled with flavorful decadence! Open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., or until all of the goodies are gone!
Our first trip (yes, we’ve gone more than once) to Your Daily Crumb yielded a plethora of goodness! A jalapeño and bacon sourdough bread that Chuck swears when toasted and paired with an egg tastes just like eggs and bacon! Soft but chewy bagels unbothered by preservatives. My personal fave was the apple cider donut cookies. Honestly, I went to the stand hoping for something chocolate and “settled” for this cookie instead. The flavor and texture volleyed between a cider donut and a slice of apple pie. It was sooooooo good!
Our second trip
Now that I’ve had a taste, I’ve become obsessed with checking YDC’s Facebook page for a sneak peak at their latest creations. When I learned that they were making Dubai cookies and brownies I just knew that I NEEDED to get there! Plus, Chuck needed another loaf of sourdough so I was really making a sacrifice for him.
YDC makes their cookies just like I prefer them, soft and gooey! I picked up only one Dubai cookie, a couple of chocolate chip cookies, a loaf of ham and Swiss sourdough (for Chuck’s health), and a Dubai brownie that could have fed the entire family for a week!
My favorite thing from this trip was 100% the Dubai cookie. I think I could have eaten an entire pan of those bad boys!! I would have been sick, for sure, but I think it would have been worth it. The cookie is soft, and bursting with chocolate chips, and the pistachio paste filling was so so delicious…. Rich but not too rich.
Not to ignore the other treats purchased, although I am partial to a good cookie, they were all awesome. The Dubai brownie is just like how I prefer a brownie, chewy not cakey, but RICH!!! You will need some milk with this one folks!! Chuck is enjoying the crap out of his ham and Swiss sourdough. That baby had to weigh over five pounds!
My Advice
If you’re looking for a treat worth splurging for, I highly recommend Your Daily Crumb!
