Looking for something to warm your soul? Craft Club combines a little creativity and social time for some February fun.
This month our craft club got together for a painting session. My mom is a very talented painter. I’m not just saying that because we’re related. She is extremely talented and makes real money from her art. I have always joked that I am an art-appreciator and the artistic gene skipped over me. I do like a crafting session though, and hanging with friends, so I put on my Van Gogh socks for inspiration, and luck, and hoped for the best.

The first rule of craft club: The purpose of craft club is not to be awesome and amazing at every craft you try. In fact, it can be more entertaining if there is a bit of a struggle in the creation of the monthly project.

The purpose of craft club is to connect with friends, a brain break from electronics (except to document your craft club experiences of course), learn something new, and fuel those creative juices! Basically, the purpose is to find your JOY! I’m sure there are other purposes, but these are mine.

What do you need for a successful craft club? A good group of friends who are willing to help those struggling with the craft, or at least willing to laugh with you when things go a bit south. Snacks. Drinks. A craft.

Some craft clubs just set a gathering date and time. Everyone shows up on this date with a craft to do. Our club prefers to do the same craft. This works for us.
