Swarming the Globe

a jerky kind of Sunday

Today’s Michigan hidden gem adventure took us to Hoxeyville and Dublin. I love a good bakery stand, and have been drooling over pictures being posted by Hoxeyville Baked Goods on their Facebook page. Here are some of the pics that I snatched from their page:

I’m a sucker for a good cookie, and Chuck is a sucker for a good sourdough, so, deeming this trip worthy of the current gas prices, we loaded up the car and headed out for the 20-minute trip. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived at 9:30 a.m. ALL of the sourdough and scones were sold out. There was one sourdough cinnamon roll left, which Chuck quickly snagged. There were cookies left as well (thank goodness). I snapped up a peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and Chuck grabbed a cherry cheesecake cookie (he thinks that is what it was called lol).

Below is the only picture that I got of our baked goods. Everything else vanished before I could pull out my camera! Our cookies and cinnamon roll were so delicious! Everyone else must think so too, resulting in empty shelves before 10:00 a.m.!! Message received: Get there early if you want sourdough and scones!

After our cookie and single cinnamon roll purchase, we made the short drive to The Dublin General Store. Chuck needed some milk to go with his baked goods!

The Dublin General Store is a Mecca for jerky connoisseurs. Just take a look at this jerky display!

Jerky!

Of course, we had to buy some. I like the Cajun turkey jerky, and Chuck prefers the BBQ turkey jerky. Beware! The Cajun turkey jerky has a little heat to it.

Besides jerky, the Dublin General Store sells store merch, hardware, groceries (of course), and sporting goods. It’s a one-stop shop for all.

Now, please excuse me, I have some jerky to eat while I watch the Pistons win Game 7!
